A New Chainmaille and a Giveaway Too!

May I just say, I think chainmaille… rocks.

There is so much of it I want to learn. Problem is, it’s vera hard. Vera, vera hard. Vera. For me, that’s what makes it so fun. I try and try and try. Then try again. Then all of a sudden, it just … clicks.

It’s kind of that way with all this jewelry I’ve been learning how to make the last couple of months. A lot of trial and error, much trying, much failing, much trying harder. Then all of a sudden, a big ‘Ah-Ha!” moment.

It’s been a blast.

I just had another one of these ah-ha moments with a new chainmaille pattern. A new one I can add to my ‘can make’ collection. So far, I’ve done Helms Weave, Byzantine Weave, Mobius Knots and now…Β Half-Persian 3-1.

I haz new chain πŸ˜€

Wanna see?

Oooooffffffff course you do. πŸ˜‰

Tada! \o/

I think it makes a cool chain. Once I get a clasp for it, perhaps it’ll be a new bracelet for the Etsy shop.

Know what else I think is cool?

I just made my 20th sale. Um… O.O

I am over.the.TOP. about that. I really never expected to have such a great response to mah jewel-er-ies. To all of you that have encouraged me and/or bought a piece, uber thank you. I heart you. πŸ™‚

In honor of this uber greatness, I decided to have a giveaway. And since I just learned a new chainmaille, I figured I’d combine the two and have… you guessed it… a chainmaille giveaway.

W00T!

Here’s the deal. Leave a comment on this post letting me know if you’d like to enter, and at the end of the month I’ll announce the winner of…

chainmaille is cool – I have some SCA friends that do this and it always boggles me… beautiful stuff, but I don’t think I would have the patience…

Keep up the great work! The more you do, the better you get… you can make some real creative, awesome items…

    1. Hi Dawn πŸ™‚

lol it does indeed take patience. That’s for sure. I’ve had to set it down more than a few times after getting too frustrated. But then more I do it, the easier it gets. I have lots of chainmail plans. πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by and entering. Hope the day is being good to you over there. πŸ˜‰

    1. I agree, everyone /should/ be wearing chainmail. It’s cool stuff. I’m in love with it. There’s so many cool ones I want to learn to make too. When I learn to cut my own rings I’ll be cranking out the chainmail.

Gotta say, chainmail with a suit…niiiiice. That’d be sharp.

    1. Thank you Jadette. I’m so happy that you think so. πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for coming by and entering!

  7. I wasn’t going to enter, but then you kept tweeting and it’s so pretty (and I don’t get excited about pretty normally). So count me in.

How’s your chainmail going? Did you make your choker?

      1. (five months later I figure out that I get notices!)

Haven’t had time to do much chainmailing yet, what with Riptide gobbling up my time, but I ordered some of the plier cover goop, so that’s some progress πŸ˜€

        1. lol, I image they’re keeping you awfully busy. Slave drivers >;)

Goop is good. πŸ˜€ I do love mah goop. I’ve also learned… tape. Tape is vera helpful. Whoda thunk it. And it doesn’t have to dry first which is good for ppl like me who have planning ahead issues lol
